Czech Republic is not connected with chocolate production such as Switzerland and Belgium, however we have some chocolate producers that are noteworthy. We like to enjoy the taste of Jordi´s chocolates - a small chocolate manufactory that attempt to reborn the chocolate production of Czechoslovakia in interwar period. And they do not use only caw milk for production, but also sheep and goat milk (our favorite)! From the truffles we must mention the chocolate artist Lucie Glaister and her talent to mix unusual flavors (you can taste them e.g. at Sisters bistro). And while exploring Prague, do not miss Choco Café, a family chocolate factory that offers wide selection of hot chocolate drinks or chocolate bars (we love the one with smoked and salted almonds).

Czech bread is quite unique – sourdough taste and bit wet crumb texture that is something that differs it from other breads all over the world. The core of really good Czech bread are “sourdough” that is fermented mixture of rye flour and water (1:1), good quality flour and time given to the bread to rest.

Kafe Karlín is a tiny, but very popular coffee bar in Karlín district. It is led by two coffee lovers that also run Kavový klub which started to organize the first public courses about how to prepare really good coffee at home and were pioneers in coffee “education” – e.g. their project !Piccolo neexistuje. At Kafe Karlin, they will prepare you nice espresso based drinks (coffee from both Czech and foreign roasters) or filtered AeroPress. You can accompany your cup with some homemade sweet cake or pie. Get ready that the café is quite small, with two table bars only and in “peak” hours you can hardly move here. ;-)

When in the city center and have no time to sit at some café, but still want a cup of good coffee, I like to stop at Káva Růžová. This tine café belongs into the Coffee Source “family”, has a nice, bit retro interior, one little table and small bar with La Marzocco (coffee machine). The coffee menu is quite limited (only espresso based drinks), but coffee is always good and fresh. Stop by! :-)

The café Styl&Interier is literally the oasis of calm in the hustle of Prague city center. When you enter via passage from Vodičkova street (few meters from Wenceslas Square), you will be suddenly in a different world. You will admire a beautiful interior and vintage furniture in the inner part, however, you will be particularly amazed by its garden, located in the courtyard of old buildings, which is open in the warmer days and where you can relax and escape from your everyday routine and bustle.
