Best breakfasts in Prague

Do you like (not only weekend) breakfasts outside home as we do? We love it! Breakfast outside is for us associated with relax, no-rush, long eating, smell of coffee, egg meal and something sweet at the end. And after, long walk with our doggie back to home (to digest a bit ;-)).
We have few our favorite places where to get the best breakfast in Prague and we are happy to share them with you:

We have few our favorite places where to get the best breakfast in Prague and we are happy to share them with you. :-)

Café Savoy
Very nice place to go for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just coffee if you like to have your foodie experience enhanced by gorgeous interior (here you can admire a ceiling in Neo-Renaissance style). From their menu, you can choose among eggs prepared in many ways, traditional Czech cakes and strudels or you can order one of the breakfast menu. The latter is our favorite choice, we like their Healthy or French breakfasts and extend the time of eating as much as possible. We also recommend their baked ham brioche bread with Gruyère cheese and poached egg. In Café Savoy, they also have the best Czech desserts in “two-bite” size version, so if you like to taste them, this is the right place. During the weekends, we recommend to make a reservation.
Address: Vítězná 5, Prague 5
Pastacafé
Two restaurants located in Prague center are very popular for pasta, other Italian dishes and salads. Especially their Caesar salad is one of the best in Prague. We like to come here also for breakfasts as their menu is quite rich. We like Lamborghini breakfast (toast, pastrami, egg sunny side up, mascarpone spread, bread) and Wellness breakfast (porridge with nuts, apple, grapefruit, multigrain bread, honey, butter, detox cocktail).
Address: Vězeňská 11, Prague 1 / Vodičkova 8, Prague 1
Café Louvre
Renewed café with long tradition was founded already in 1902 and became very popular among the artists, philosophes and writers of that time. And its atmosphere still reminds the past times. The interior is decorated in the style of Viennese cafés, staff is nicely dressed-up and the whole café is vibrant by guests’ conversations with floating clouds of smoke from cigarettes. Also coffee culture is stuck in the last century and you can forget about flat white or other coffee specialties. However, we like to come here for their breakfasts (it is also the calmest time of the day here) as they have very nice offer for very reasonable prices. We like especially their breakfast menu – our favorite is Nothern menu with sparkling wine, herb pancakes with smoked salmon and sour cream.
Address: Národní 22, Prague 1
Antonínovo pekařství
Small bakery located in the heart of Vinohrady (just next to namesti Jiriho z Podebrad) is very popular among the local residents that are waiting in the line every weekend to get their real Czech bread. Besides breads, they offer nice selection of cakes and “kolaches” prepared according to traditional recipes of our grandmothers. Our favorite breakfast is combination of Czech bread with egg spread and sweet cocoa drink... it reminds us our childhood. They do not make reservations, so if you come in the morning during the weekend, it might be bit crowded there, but usually after few minutes you will find some places. During warm days, you can also sit outside and soak the atmosphere of the district.
Address: Laubova 4, Prague 3
Cacao Prague
Little Slovenian chain of cafés (you can find their cafés in Ljubljana or coastal Portorož) is popular for its good quality ice creams and delicious cakes and is - due to the location – opposite to Municipal house – visited especially by tourists. However, their menu is really good and it is an ideal place for healthy breakfast. We love their Acai na Tigela – a Brazilian dish made of frozen and mashed açaí palm fruit (sweetened by guaraná syrup) served as a smoothie in a bowl and accompanied by with granola and banana. It is always nice start of the day but it can be also nice cold lunch or snack during hot summer days.
Address: V Celnici 4, Prague 1
Můj šálek kávy
Very popular café located in popular Karlin district. The locals like it here not only for breakfasts but in every daily hour – for quick lunches, sweet cakes or glass of wine in the evening. And I am not talking about the coffee that is one of the best in Prague. They also have the best English breakfast here, so if we are craving for this menu, our steps definitely lead there.
Address: Křižíkova 105, Prague 8
Home Kitchen
Very small cozy bistro located in the center (they also have the second bistro located in Prague 7) is an ideal place to jump for quicker breakfast, especially during the week days. We love their homemade granola & yogurt and fruit, and if you are not craving for “healthy” meal, go for their sandwiches with roast beef & mushrooms & cream cheese or goat cheese & zucchini.
Address: Jungmannova 8, Prague 1
Café Místo
Recently opened café in Prague 6 (and younger sister of Můj šálek kávy) has quickly became very popular place for the locals to spend weekend mornings.  The combination of its location father from crowds of tourists, nice simple bright interior, great coffee and good food did a great job together. We have tried their Eggs Benedict and Buckwheat pancake with seasonal fruit & cream and we can highly recommend them. However, as they change their menu regularly, you will probably find something else on the menu and surely will be good as well.
Address: Bubenečská 12, Prague 6
La Bottega bistro & restaurants
Our favorite little chain of Italian bistros & restaurants offers also a nice breakfast menu. We like especially La Bottega Gastronomica in Vinohrady where you can sit outside in the street and enjoy the atmosphere of the district. Our favorite breakfast here is Eggs Benedict on a sesame bagel with cooked prosciutto and their waffles with fruits.
