Best Cafés in Prague (vol.1)

Do you like to have a break during exploring Prague and enjoy a cup of coffee in a pleasant place? Here are tips for our favorite cafés in Prague!

Monolok Café
Pleasant café is located in the heart of Vinohrady. We like it there not only due to its delicious coffees but also thanks to its unusual modern design. Café is open daily, ideal place where to start a day with tasty breakfast – we recommend homemade granola or just jump in for a quick lunch. When the weather is good, you can sit outside in the nice garden.
Address: Moravská 1540/18, Prague 2

Mamacoffee
Mammacoffe is a chain of popular 7 cafés with the first Bio Fair Trade coffee roaster in the Czech Republic. We love the one in Vodičkova street. Its two floors are almost always full o people. Besides coffees you can choose from a large selection of homemade cakes, pies or handmade cookies. If you do not have a sweet tooth, you can have daily soup, hummus, risotto or other small dishes. All vegetarian, permeated by Middle Eastern cuisine inspiration.
Address: Vodičkova 6, Prague 1

Kavárna Pražírna
Pražírna is a small café just next to the exit from I.P. Pavlova metro station. Due to revealed bricks at the walls, it looks like in a cellar there. As one of the few cafés, Pražírna has its own coffee own roaster where they roast coffee from all around the world. You can also have coffee of your choice grounded here to take away home. Although just limited selection of dishes is available, there is always something sweet you can take with your coffee.
Address: Lublaňská 50, Prague 2

Můj šálek kávy
A very popular and stylish café in Karlin neighborhood. Great coffee, pleasant interior, nice professional staff, these are reasons to spend long afternoons with a coffee or to get there for a breakfast during the weekends. Besides classic coffee drinks we really recommend their specialties such as iced latte with homemade vanilla syrup or Affogato - creamy ice cream with espresso. Both are the best what you can get during warm days. Tasting coffee set is among the offered goodies too, but you can come for a quick lunch or evening wine or beer from Czech mini breweries as well.
Address: Křižíkova 386/105, Prague 8

EMA Espresso Bar
This café is younger sister of Café Lounge, a very popular café in Prague 5, close to Petrin Gardens (more about this café next time). EMA actually means “Espressem Milovaná Adresa” – in English “the address loved by espresso” and the name says it all. An excellent coffee is being offered (I dare to say they have the best cappuccino in Prague), the staff is always smiling and airy interior welcomes to stay for hours over one (or more) coffee(s). We can highly recommend also the homemade cakes and buns.
Address: Na Florenci 1420/3, Prague 1
