Farmers’ market at Naplavka

Farmers’ market at Naplavka

If you like to taste a real local production, buy some souvenirs for home or just enjoy the atmosphere of being among the locals, go to Farmářské tržiště Náplavka, farmer’s market that takes place every Saturday on the lower Vltava right riverbank, between Palackeho Bridge and the Railway Bridge under Vysehrad.

At 8 a.m. the farmers set their stands and offer fresh fruit and vegetable, dairy products, sausages, homemade marmalades and jams, honey, vegetable spreads, fresh homemade pasta, syrups, ciders, handicrafts and many more. You can also have a breakfast or lunch there. We like to have a cup of coffee from Mamma coffee stand and a sweet “galette” (pancake) with lavender syrup and fresh cream.
But the offer is much wider, you can get also fresh grilled fish, Slovak “halusky”, baked potatoes, or specialties from Croatia or Slovenia and wash it down by a beer or local wines. You can spend whole morning there or it might be just a nice starting point for another walk through Prague.
