Prague Food Tips

Raw Prague

Raw Prague

Czech Republic is „meat“ country that is known. The locals love meat of all kinds and big majority of traditional Czech recipes is meat base. Some people must have meat in every meal and I remember my grandfather always saying “the meal without meat is not real meal”. :-) However, things and habits are changing and more and more people switch to healthier alternative ways of diet, either eating meat just few times per week or shifting to vegetarian, vegan or even raw food from any reason.
Especially the latter is quite new in our country and more raw restaurants or bistros are appearing in Prague or in other cities. Even though we personally do not follow raw principles and eat reasonably more or less everything, we like to try something new and exceptional and visit time to time raw restaurants. Especially raw sunburger from Secret of Raw is our favorite. So, be raw food your everyday life or just unusual diet variety like for us, in this article, you will find our tips for raw food places in Prague.

Secret of raw
Very popular raw restaurant at the beginning of Žižkov district. The restaurant offers nice full raw menu and it is an ideal place not only for week day lunches, but also for nice raw dinners. Great service, nice interior and if you order their sunburger or zucchini spaghetti with arugula pesto, you can enjoy nice foodie experience. The restaurant is not located directly in the center of Prague, but you can get there easily by trams # 9, 5, 26 (from the Main Train Station it is just 1 stop).
Address: Seifertova 13, 130 00 Prague 3
Sweet Secret of raw
Little sister of Secret of raw and the first raw sweet shop in Prague. In a nice bright interior you can enjoy sweet breakfasts every day up to 12 am or stop for a coffee and cake in the afternoon. They offer a wide variety of raw cakes or cookies that are made of vegetal, “pure”, gluten free ingredients. We especially like their banana pancakes or chia pudding, however their smoothies or ice cream sorbets are great as well.
Address: Rumunská 25, 120 00 Prague 2
MyRaw Café
The small bistro in Gourmet Pasáž Dlouhá combines raw restaurant and café / sweet shop together. You can come for a quick lunch during week days (day offer lunch menu) or enjoy a cup of coffee accompanied by some cake from their nice sweet menu (they have quite large selection, so the choice is sometimes difficult). While waiting for your meal, you can watch its preparation in the open kitchen just behind the counter. They also offer breakfasts (try Raw English breakfast or buckwheat porridge), or in the evening you can jump here for a glass of wine.
Address:  Gourmet Pasáž, Dlouhá 39, Prague 1
Plevel
Small (but two-floor) popular vegan & raw restaurant is located in the famous Prague “hipster” street Krymska. Nice place for a healthy dinner with beer or glass of wine and soaking the atmosphere of the district. Our tips from the menu: raw zucchini lasagna with spinach or portobello burger with salad and homemade dip (vegan).
Address: Krymská 2, Prague 10 - Vršovice
Raw Deli
Raw Deli are two small bistros located in the center of Prague (Národní and Benediktská streets). Their selection changes every day and is quite limited, but if you like to get a quick lunch or snack between running among Prague sightseeing, it is an ideal place to go. We recommend their raw burgers, fresh fruit & vegetable juices or raw granola. They also satisfy your sweet tongue by their offer of raw cakes.
Address: Benediktská 7, Prague 1 / Národní 25, Prague 1
